SportNation is an extremely new option on the sports betting scene, having only launched in 2017. It’s a rebranding and relaunch of Bet On Brazil, a bookie which was regarded as excellent on football betting, but considerably weaker on other sports.
Whilst staying strong on football, SportNation are aiming to become a better all-round bookmaker than their predecessor. They’ve already tapped into the cricket market, signing an… unusual sponsorship deal with England’s Barmy Army, and have given horse racing plenty of attention too.
Can SportNation succeed where Bet On Brazil failed? Could they eventually threaten the titans of sports betting?
All shall be revealed, in our SportNation bet review.
SportNation Sign Up Offer
Overall, the SportNation welcome offer is excellent. You do need to read the T’s & C’s extremely carefully, though.
The SportNation sign up offer gives you a 50% bonus on your initial deposit, up to £100. There are only a few conditions which must be met, but they are very important:
- Initial deposit must be between £20 and £200
- Must turn over initial deposit, plus bonus funds, seven times. Only then can you withdraw the bonus money
- Qualifying bets must be made at odds of 1.6 or greater
- Turnover must be made within 30 days of deposit
Let’s say you deposit £20, and get a £10 bonus, giving you £30 to gamble with. You’d need to place bets equal to £210 (£30 x 7), all within 30 days, to become eligible to withdraw your bonus funds.
In short, the SportNation welcome offer is extremely generous… but it’s not one for the faint-hearted. If you’re a confident gambler, then this is one of the better welcome offers you’ll find on the market.
SportNation Ongoing Promotions
There’s no other way to put it – the ongoing SportNation casino offers are simply excellent, and genuinely rival those of the big bookies.
At the time of writing, there are four main ongoing promotions; two for football, and two for horse racing.
Most notable is the Acca Boost, which scales with the number of selections in your accumulator. Six selections – a standard number – grants you an extra 10%. 10 selections will give you a hefty 30% boost, and 14 picks grants a whopping 70% increase. Best of all, your winnings come in the form of real money, not a SportNation free bet.
Another eye-catching offer is the First 5 Minutes Payout promotion, also for football. If the team you’ve picked to win scores within the first 5 minutes of the game, you’ll win the bet, regardless of what happens afterwards. Nice!
Elsewhere, SportNation provides plenty of enhanced odds on big football matches, and other sports. They even offer special promotions to bettors on WhatsApp, if you add them as a contact.
The ongoing SportNation offers are absolutely fantastic, and they could well help this brand to make a splash in the crowded sports betting marketplace.
SportNation Football Features
Any British betting brand worth its salt should have plenty of football features. Fortunately, SportNation passes this test with flying colours.
The layout of the football section is solid. In the central area, you can easily switch between live games, the daily match list, and the most popular leagues. Wherever you are on the site, live games will still be kept on the right side of your screen, meaning it couldn’t be easier to keep up with ongoing matches and place in-play bets.
In-play betting – a huge part of modern day gambling – works brilliantly. Bets are placed quickly, allowing you to capitalise on the odds at any particular moment. Though there’s no live streaming, SportNation displays what’s going on with a top-down graphic – “Man Utd attacking”, “Chelsea corner”, and so on – so you’re never out of the loop.
As for betting on upcoming games, we have no complaints there either.
All the major markets are clearly laid out, and are available at competitive odds. SportNation also offer special bets on major games. These include wagering on a come-from-behind win, and a nice little Half Time/Full Time & Over/Under combined bet at mouth-watering odds. Putting together an accumulator is simple, and the aforementioned Acca Boost is applied automatically, which is a great touch.
Football betting is an area in which SportNation excels.
Other Betting Markets at SportNation
As we mentioned earlier in our SportNation betting review, one of the reasons Bet On Brazil didn’t succeed was because its offering wasn’t balanced.
We’re pleased to say that SportNation thrives where its forebear failed. In addition to the outstanding football section, they offer a wide array of other betting markets.
Horse racing is well represented, particularly by a Best Odds Guaranteed offer, which gives you the starting price if it’s better than your original price. Each March, you’ll also find a tantalising SportNation Cheltenham offer available.
Elsewhere, all the usual suspects – tennis, golf, cricket, and so on – are present and correct. E-Sports are also included, and there’s the option to bet on more unusual sports like surfing and table tennis.
Mobile Betting Options & Apps
The SportNation app is very good indeed. Unfortunately, it’s only available on iOS. We know this is a new brand, but there’s really no excuse not to have an Android version of your app in this day and age.
iOS users, at least, will get access to an excellent betting app. The layout closely follows that of the desktop version, and manages to keep all the important information handy despite the smaller screen size. Special offers, live betting opportunities, the ability to see your current bets, and more are available with a single touch of the screen.
Everything loads extremely quickly (including updates on live sporting events) too. In fact, we found the actual placing of bets to be speedier than on the desktop site. We experienced no crashes whatsoever using the app, and it didn’t appear to sap much of our battery life.
Whilst there’s no Android app, the mobile version of the site is excellent. It resembles the app’s layout almost exactly, and everything loads fairly quickly (though not as quickly as the app).
SportNation Withdrawals & Banking Options
Our SportNation bet inspect has been pretty positive so far, but this definitely represents a low point.
When it comes to banking options, this bookie offers precisely two: credit card, and debit card. That’s it – no PayPal, no bank transfer… nothing.
The minimum deposit is a standard £10, and our deposit for this review was processed instantly.
The minimum withdrawal amount is also £10, and your account must be verified using photo ID before you take any money out. Withdrawals are usually made within 48 hours, and the money must be withdrawn to the original payment card you used.
Customer Support at SportNation
There are two ways to contact SportNation.
The best method is via live chat, which is available from 12pm-10pm, seven days a week. If your enquiry is less urgent, you can email the support team instead, usually receiving a reply within 48 hours.
In addition, there’s a comprehensive FAQ in place. This guides you from the basics – deposits, withdrawals, and so on – through to more complex subjects, like the mechanics of using SportNation free bets. The answers are generally short, but they get all the essential information across.
SportNation Company Details
There’s not a huge amount of information available about SportNation, aside from their emerging from the ashes of Bet On Brazil (find out more about that rebranding here), and having started in 2017.
This would sometimes be a red flag for a bookie, but SportNation hold full gambling licenses in the UK and Ireland. They also use SBTech for their software – a well-respected developer in the betting sphere – which should also help to put punters’ minds at rest.
In addition to SportNation, parent company Argyll Entertainment also own RedZone Sports. It’s a strange betting site, targeted at UK customers whilst focussing on American sports, but this unusual approach definitely shows an impressive amount of ambition from the higher-ups at Argyll.
SportNation Bottom Line
It’s not often that we’d give a full recommendation to a brand new bookie. With SportNation, however, we do so without hesitation.
Quite simply, this is a wonderful all-round offering.
They balance football and other sports brilliantly, offer excellent ongoing promotions, and generally provide an extremely user-friendly experience. The absence of an Android app, and the lack of banking options, are slight drawbacks, but they shouldn’t deter you from trying out SportNation.
If you’re a higher-stakes bettor, you should jump on the generous SportNation welcome offer immediately, and get a 50% bonus on your deposit. If not, simply sign up for an account here, stick a tenner in your account, and try SportNation out for a couple of weeks. You’re very, very unlikely to be disappointed.
