LeoVegas – a Swedish brand – was formed in 2011 as an online casino. After several years of rapid growth, they decided to build on their strong reputation and expand. They opened a sportsbook, in the form of LeoVegas Sport, in 2016.
Since then, leovegas.com/sportsbook have gone all out to spread their name. They’ve partnered with industry veterans Kambi on the technical side, and have sealed shirt sponsorship deals with two Championship football clubs; Norwich City and Brentford.
So, how successfully have LeoVegas made their expansion into offering a sportsbook too? Find out, in our LeoVegas Sport review.

LeoVegas Sport Sign Up Offer
The LeoVegas new customer offer comes in with a Bet £10, Get £15 Free Bet.
As always, there are a few Ts & Cs to be aware of:
- 18+ New customers only.
- Min qualifying stake £10 in-play only.
- Min odds 1/2. 3 x £5 Free Bets valid for 7 days on in-play & mobile only.
- Horse racing aren’t included in this offer.
Overall, this is an extremely solid sign up offer. As long as you’re happy putting down a bet of at least £10 to start with.
LeoVegas Sports Betting Ongoing Promotions
There’s not a huge amount of choice with the LeoVegas Sportsbook ongoing promotions. In fact, there are just two of them. Thankfully, both are excellent.
The Extra Winnings offer is the most eye-catching. LeoVegas are giving their customers four Profit Boosts each week, which you can use on football, as well as rugby, cricket and darts. These will boost your winnings by anywhere from 5-20%, up to a hefty maximum of £100 per boost.
Elsewhere, there’s a tasty Best Odds Guaranteed offer for horse racing. If you bet on a horse at certain odds, then the odds go up before the race actually starts, LeoVegas will give you the better price. For example, if you bet on Seabiscuit at 5/1, then – come race time – he’s up at 7/1, LeoVegas will pay out at at 7/1.
Finally, there’s a VIP system, in which you progress up the levels as you place more bets. There’s a prize draw at the end of each month, in which your chances to win increase depending on your VIP level. It’s a decent incentive to keep betting, we suppose, but it’s not a reason to sign up on its own.
LeoVegas Football Features and Bets
The LeoVegas Sports football section is extremely easy to navigate.
The main menu is intuitively arranged so that live matches are on top, followed by competitions in rough order of popularity. Right now, in the midst of the pre-season, friendly matches are on top, then the International Champions Cup, then MLS – the three things you’d actually be interested in betting on, basically.
Visit a particular competition and you’ll get live games on top, followed by the upcoming matches in order of kickoff. In-play betting is available, but the number of markets on offer depends on how big the game is. You’ll always be able to bet on the final result, and the over/under, but – for the more obscure games – markets like Next Goalscorer won’t be available.
The pre-match markets for individual games can also be limited, depending on how high-profile the matchup is. The upcoming Manchester United vs Real Madrid game offers a pleasingly wide range of options, including goalscorers, corners, cards, and so on. In the Mainz vs West Ham game on the same day, however, there are significantly fewer markets, despite those being two big teams.
Overall, the LeoVegas football section should be fine for most bettors. Those who like to go in-depth with their football gambling, however, might be frustrated.
The English Premier League is the most popular football betting league with the customers of LeoVegas. At the time of writing the next live television match was West Ham’s home fixture against Leicester. The match odds are shown for this match followed by over 100 related markets under the following headings:
- Full Time
- 3-Way Handicap
- Asian Lines
- Goal Scorer
- Player Goals
- Player Cards
- Player Specials
- Match Events
The range of markets compares favourably with other operators but there are fewer available for minor matches. The three-way match winner market has a profit margin of just over 2% which is the lowest on the market. The established UK brands apply an 11% margin to their match odds. The variance suggests LeoVegas are competing based on competitive odds. The recreational gambler may not notice the difference but the professional placing big bets will take note.
The two-way markets such as Total Goals are compiled with a margin of 5% which is more in keeping with other bookmakers. The headline Home-Draw-Away market is being priced competitively. LeoVegas is a relatively new name in online bookmaking so customers are being targeted with low margins for the most popular market in sports betting.
There are no specific ongoing promotions related to football but bets made on a number of sports including football count as qualifying bets for the LeoVegas Bet Club. Each week customers who place five £15 bets using a mobile device will be given £10 in the form of a free bet under the rules of the LeoVegas Bet Club.
The qualifying bets must be placed at odds of Evens (1/1) or bigger. The free bet cannot be used on each-way or system bets but one single line bet. The qualifying sports are football, tennis, darts, rugby league and rugby union. When the site was reviewed LeoVegas offered enhanced odds for a treble on selected Champions League matches.
Football is the most popular sport for in-play betting at LeoVegas and there are also live events for tennis, basketball and cricket and several other sports when there is a major event. The match winner and time elapsed is displayed for each match and the other markets appear under the headings of full time, time intervals and goals. The display interface is limited compared to other live offers and there is no graphical representation of the movement of play.
LeoVegas does not offer a cash out option for football or any other sport. The main positive feature is the low margins in the match odds but the odds do not compensate for a limited overall football service.
Other Betting Markets
Whilst football and horse racing are undoubtedly the two focuses for the brand, The Bookmaker easily offers enough betting markets to keep the vast majority of gamblers happy.
Tennis, rugby and cricket are all nicely covered, with a variety of live, in-play betting options available, and all three are included in LeoVegas Sport’s excellent Extra Winnings offer. Other popular sports like boxing, darts, golf and F1 are also well represented.
There’s a fine range of North American markets on offer too, including American football, basketball, baseball and ice hockey. You can also bet on e-sports, and a few less common gambling markets like chess and gaelic sports.
We have no complaints whatsoever about LeoVegas’s range of betting markets. It’s extensive, and there’s something here to suit all tastes.
Mobile Betting Options & Apps
The LeoVegas mobile app is absolutely fantastic. That doesn’t really come as a surprise, considering LeoVegas Casino have won numerous awards specifically for their mobile offering.
The layout of the LeoVegas mobile app is exactly the same as the desktop version. It actually looks better on a mobile screen, though. The colours seem to pop more, and the elements fill the screen perfectly. It’s also easier to navigate, courtesy of a simple yet intuitive layout.
Elsewhere, browsing markets, placing an in-play bet and cashing out an existing bet couldn’t be easier. The app runs smoothly and quickly, and we experienced no errors whatsoever during our testing.
Finally, The brand also combines its sports and casino sections into one app. If you like to play casino games in addition to your sports betting, it’s extremely easy to do so here.
There’s no other way to put it. The LeoVegas sport app – available on both iOS and Android devices – is simply outstanding.
Opening A LeoVegas Account
Potential new customers must click the ‘OPEN ACCOUNT’ button on the Home Page. The first step involves entering basic personal details and a unique username and password. There is the option to choose one of three bonuses: casino, live casino or sport. The second page includes a validation code field which can be sent by text message or email. A new customer must enter contact details and specify the gender. Once the Terms and Conditions have been accepted the new customer clicks the ‘OPEN ACCOUNT’ button at the bottom of the second registration page.
Once the account has been validated the first deposit can be made. There is a limited amount of banking options but the preferred method is selected and the amount is specified. Betting funds are credited to an account immediately so that betting can begin. Customers click on the odds in a market and the betting slip is displayed. As more selections are added the range of bets is shown which can be singles, combination and system. When the stake is entered the potential return is shown and the bet is placed. If the bet is accepted the account balance is updated accordingly.
LeoVegas Sport doesn’t offer the widest range of banking options, but all the big hitters are present and correct. Deposits can be made using Visa or Mastercard, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafe, and even via bank transfer.
The minimum amount you can deposit is £10, which is the industry standard. Unlike some of the larger bookies, there’s a LeoVegas minimum withdrawal in place too, which is also £10. You should also note that withdrawals must be made using the method you used for your deposit – if you deposited using a credit card, you must withdraw to that same card.
A little touch we liked was that – when you go to make your first deposit – LeoVegas will offer you the chance to impose weekly deposit limits on yourself. Most bookies offer something like this, but it’s great that LeoVegas make it so easy to do.
LeoVegas Interface and Layout
The user interface is unimaginative and limited. Its one thing not to clutter a page with information but there is a great deal of blank space on the LeoVegas Home page. There are two bands of the screen to the left and right that are not used for information. The in-play betting interface is basic and other operators provide far more match statistics and historical information.
The menu options on the Home Page are Casino, Live Casino and Sports. This choice is minimal and other online bookmakers offer a wider choice of gaming products.
Navigation could be better and it seems that LeoVegas have limited the investment in the site in favour of low betting margins which make for competitive odds. The sports on offer are not displayed on the main Sports page but there is a browse sports option. At the tome of writing LeoVegas offered odds for over 30 sports which is a good range and selection.
There are three ways to contact LeoVegas support team: phone, email and live chat. The phone number is free to call, emails are responded to within 24 hours, and there are staff available to answer your questions 24/7.
The support agent we talked to for this review was courteous and helpful, and this generally seems to gel with the casino’s reputation online.
Elsewhere, there’s an FAQ section which should answer the majority of customers’ queries. It’s not the biggest FAQ around, but it does cover all the major bases relating to deposits and withdrawals, how to qualify for special offers, and so on.
LeoVegas Company Details
The firm was formed in May 2016, as part of the LeoVegas brand. They’re based in Stockholm, Sweden, and are publically traded on the stock exchange there.
LeoVegas hold a full UK gambling license, in addition to their Maltese license. They have over 700 employees, and their software is provided by industry veterans Kambi Group, who have also worked with bookies like 888sport and 32Red.
LeoVegas’s reputation has been boosted by a series of award wins. In their relatively short history they’ve already won nine major prizes, including “Mobile Operator of the Year” at the EGR Nordic Awards.
LeoVegas Betting Bottom Line
Despite their success in northern Europe, LeoVegas Bookmaker are certainly not a household name in the UK. It’s natural to be sceptical of a brand you haven’t heard of, of course, but it’s high time to get LeoVegas onto your radar.
From their solid welcome offer, to their wide range of betting markets, there’s plenty to like at LeoVegas. Their mobile offering is particularly outstanding, with an app which truly rivals that of any major bookie. We’d like a greater variety of ongoing promotions, sure, but the ones currently in place are very good indeed.
Overall, there’s plenty to recommend about this sport bookie. If you’d like to give them a try yourself, and take advantage of their matched bet welcome offer, simply head over here.
