BetBright are a relatively new company on the sports betting scene, having only been founded in 2012. It’s a highly competitive industry, but this Dublin-based bookie is looking to make a name for itself through technological innovations, and streamlining the betting process.
Newer bookies often make exciting propositions, as they really push the envelope in order to make a splash. BetBright are no exception. They gained a great deal of praise for their “recommendation engine”, and have created a handy “Bet Feed” feature. On top of that, they’ve got a series of enticing offers for new and existing customers, which we’ll look at shortly.
The future certainly looks promising for this exciting young sportsbook. Join us for a deeper look at their offering, in our BetBright bookmaker review.
BetBright Sign Up Offer
There is one BetBright sign up offer available for sports bettors. It’s called “Deposit £20, Play with £70”, but this is slightly misleading. And here’s why.
In addition to sports betting, BetBright also features a range of casino games. When you sign up and deposit £20, you will get a generous bonus of £25 for sports betting. The rest of the sign up bonus, however – i.e. the other £25 – is to be spent on casino games, if you so desire.
Terms & Conditions
There are plenty of terms and conditions with the BetBright new customer offer, as you might expect. You can read them in full on their website, but these are the most important ones:
- Entire deposit + bonus amount (£45) must be wagered five times, within 10 days. Only then will the bonus funds and qualifying deposit amount be released
- Only bets placed at odds of 4/5 or higher count towards the aforementioned betting requirement
- After signing up for BetBright, you have four days to deposit and opt in for the offer in order to be eligible
When these conditions are taken into account, the BetBright sign up offer starts to look less attractive. In short, you need to bet a hefty £225 – within 10 days – to actually qualify for it. That won’t deter the higher rollers, but more casual punters may well be put off. This is a negative element of the Betbright review.
BetBright Ongoing Football Promotions
The range of BetBright promotions isn’t the largest, but those which are on offer are excellent.
In terms of sports betting, BetBright currently have offers for football, horse racing and golf, along with their general In-Play Special.
We have to say, that In-Play Special is particularly tasty. Punters can get 25% of their net daily losses returned to them, up to £100 per day, in the form of a free bet.
BetBright Acca Club
Another BetBright offer that caught our eye was the Acca Club. The accumulator is perhaps the most popular wager in football betting. With BetBright, if you place five accas of at least £5, you get a whole extra one for free.
Event Special Offers
BetBright also like to put special offers together for the biggest live sporting events. They had a £10 million giveaway for the 2018 World Cup, and are currently offering to pay 10 places for the upcoming Open Championship in golf.
Taking advantage of these offers couldn’t be easier. They’re all plainly laid out on a single page, and you simply need to click “Opt In” to trigger the offer. Straight after, you’ll be taken to the relevant page to make your selections. We tested out the Open Championship special offer as part of our BetBright review, for example, and the entire process was faultlessly smooth.
Is BetBright legit?
The Betbright coverage has revealed a reputable betting company.
BetBright are fully licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, and hold an Irish license too. Regarding their technical security measures, they simply reassure customers that their data is stored securely, and their communications are private and confidential. We’d prefer a little more detail, but – in fairness – BetBright do generally enjoy a good reputation for safety online.
Punters should have no worries about the safety of their payment methods either. Deposits can be made using the biggest, most secure methods around, including Mastercard and Visa.
BetBright Football Betting Features
It’s always nice to have a range of events to bet on, but many bettors will have eyes for only one sport: football.
Fortunately, BetBright have this area fully covered. Competitions from around the world are represented, from the heavy hitters like the English Premier League and the Champions League, to the Japanese J League 2.
The sport appears under two headings on the main menu on the Home Page: Football and Football Coupons. The football page displays featured matches while the coupons group together fixtures by league. Leagues and Cups in the UK appear at the top of the Coupons page followed by coupons covering the main European Leagues. Market coupons group together the most popular football markets. Coupons by country show each country in alphabetical order.
When the Betbright football review was done the operator offered odds for just 14 countries which is well below average. England accounts for the most competitions with 10 in total in including the form professional leagues and some leagues further down the pyramid.
Markets & Betting Options
All your favourite markets are present and correct, including picking a result, over/unders and goalscorers. Pleasingly, there’s also a BetBright cash out option, allowing you to swiftly bail out on a bet that’s going south.
The most popular betting league in the world in the English Premier League. There are 20 competing teams who play each other on a home and away basis. That means a full programme of 38 matches for each club from August to May. Betbright have a comprehensive range of markets for each match under the following headings:
- Score Markets
- Half Markets
- All Markets
Putting down an accumulator – perhaps the king of football bets – is easy to do. Simply make your selections, and BetBright will automatically give you the option to form an acca, and calculate your potential returns.
BrightBundle is Betbright’s version of customised betting. You can combine a selection of match events to create a custom bet which will be settled at enhanced odds. This facility is available for every match in the English Premier League. The options are related which means the odds are a combination of each element. There is an adjustment because combining the elements is not allowed through regular betting. The thinking behind the facility is to bundle a number of events some of which are related. Other bookmakers offer something similar for customised betting.
Customers with Betbright can cash out their bets to guarantee a return or minimise a loss. If this facility is available there is a logo against the market. Cash out is available for several sports and leagues including on football matches in the English Premier League. The cash out returns are dependent on the odds taken, current odds and the stake. The bookmaker calculates the guaranteed return regardless of the outcome. For example if you back a team to win in 90 minutes and they score the first goal the odds will shorten. Cash out with Betbright is akin to laying a bet at small odds than the back bet. Conversely if the scoring goes against you the lay bet will be at bigger odds than the back bet and cash out will limit the losses.
We also want to make special note of BetBright’s in-play football betting, which is simply outstanding. Betting in running has one of the massive growth areas in online betting. Before the internet the most you could bet on during play was the match winner and there were three options. In-play betting is now available from many leagues and matches and odds are updated in real time as time elapses and there is a key event. Betting is suspended when there is a goal, penalty, red card or significant injury.
Odds are also adjusted in line with the time remaining at the end of the first half and the match. The full time result, first half outcome and draw no bet are markets for which cash out is available. Betbright offers about 20 in-play markets for matches in the Premier League in England.
We also want to make special note of BetBright’s in-play football betting, which is simply outstanding.
The odds are constantly updated, even for relatively obscure matches. Even though there’s no live streaming, you’re kept up to date with everything that’s going on by text and some nice graphics. We also found putting down a live bet an absolute cinch.
If we had one criticism of BetBright’s football features, it’s the layout. The interface is quite laborious to navigate, and – though it’s easy to bet on individual games – we still couldn’t find out how to bet on long-term awards, like Golden Boot winner or Premier League champion, after 10 minutes of searching. Despite these negatives overall Betbright football betting offers a decent service
Other Betting Markets
BetBright doesn’t have the largest range of betting markets in the world, but all the major sports are present and correct.
Aside from the biggest hitters, like football and horse racing, you’ll find golf, greyhound racing, cricket, rugby, and more. There’s also a nice selection of American sports, including MLB, NBA and NFL.
Despite being represented in name, however, we must say that there isn’t a deep range of betting options for many of these secondary sports.
Take the NFL, for example. You can bet on the Super Bowl winner and the results of individual games, but some pretty major markets – MVP and Rookie of the Year, for example – are missing.
Mobile Betting Options & Apps
A high percentage of modern wagering is done on the go. Fortunately, the BetBright mobile offering is extensive to say the least.
BetBright Betting Apps
There’s a BetBright app available on both Android and iOS devices, which you can download straight from Google Play or the App Store respectively. Whilst the user reviews on those sites aren’t outstanding, we found the app (tested on iPhone and iPad) to be both responsive and reliable. In-play betting is available, just as on the main website, and each page loads pleasingly quickly.
If you can’t (or simply don’t want to) download the BetBright app, we’re pleased to say that the mobile version of the site is fantastic. It follows just the same layout as the desktop version, and is arguably better-looking.
Horse Racing App
Finally, if you’re specifically interested in horse racing, you can also download the other BetBright app: Betfinder. Apply a few quick filters, and Betfinder will find wagers that are specifically suited to your tastes, based on reams of historical data and BetBright’s own algorithms.
There are only five banking options here: Mastercard, Visa, Paypal, Skrill and Neteller. It’s not exactly a broad range, but all the major bases are covered.
Please note that, whilst you can deposit using any of these methods, Skrill and Neteller users are ineligible for the BetBright sign up offer.
BetBright have a minimum deposit of £10, which is standard practice in the sports betting industry.
The BetBright withdrawal limit is £4,000 per week, which is nice and high. Withdrawals to credit or debit cards will usually process within 3-5 days, whilst those made to Skrill and Neteller should be quicker, at around 24 hours.
Considering they’re not one of the major players in online sports betting, we must say that the BetBright customer service options are excellent. You can contact them directly via live chat or phone between 8am and midnight each day. If your enquiry isn’t urgent, you can send the team an email instead.
In addition to the direct BetBright contact options, there’s also a strong FAQ section in place. Every topic we could think of was covered here, from the mechanics of using the BetBright cash out feature, to sport-specific questions (“What happens if a greyhound race is abandoned or postponed?”, for example).
BetBright Company Details
BetBright was founded in Dublin back in 2012, and it’s still based there today. It’s owned by Dedsert (Ireland) Limited, and is that company’s sole property.
In the introduction to our BetBright review, we mentioned that this bookie had a flair for innovation. Well, this comes from the very top: the CEO and founder, Marcus Brennan, created Ireland’s first online subscription-based lottery. Ronan Murphy, BetBright’s technical director, has worked for several big gambling outfits, and helped to develop automation at Paddy Power.
As of early 2018, BetBright were looking to boost their staff numbers to 150, and were forecasting €29m revenues; double what they achieved in 2017. They’re still not close to the titans of the wagering industry – Ladbrokes, William Hill, and so on – in either category, but things are certainly heading in the right direction.
BetBright Review: The Bottom Line
BetBright might be a relatively new online sports bookie, but they’ve already got a lot going for them.
The BetBright Android app, along with its iOS counterpart, is simply outstanding. Overall, BetBright’s commitment to on-the-go gambling – which includes mobile-only special offers – is truly laudable.
We also found their ongoing promotions to be extremely attractive, and you can’t help but admire their no-frills approach to wagering.
Given the youth of the company, and the relative scarcity of available markets, you may well consider waiting until online betting at BetBright is a more fully-formed proposition. That’s certainly not a requirement, however. In fact, you could definitely sign up with these guys now, take advantage of the BetBright new customer offer, and be very happy with your choice for a long time to come.
