Note: Funbet does not currently accept UK bettors. A license with the UK Gambling Commission has already been secured, though, so this will change soon.
For the keen sports bettor, there has literally never been a golden age like this. Not only are established brands constantly dreaming up new features, or improving old ones, but whole new sportsbooks are springing up all the time. This presents two main opportunities for the savvy punter. Either they can constantly be on the lookout for a new, superior, full-time sportsbook… or they can simply use the welcome offers at that new bookie, and move on!
Funbet is a brand-new betting platform offering both of these opportunities. In this Funbet review, we’ll evaluate everything you need to know about them, from their promotions and betting markets, to their security and customer service. Let’s get started.

Respectable welcome offer
Solid range of banking options
Tons of betting markets
Funbet Sign Up Offer
Whether you are looking for an ongoing, long-term sportsbook, or simply to use the welcome offer and bounce… the quality of that welcome offer is pretty darn important! For a new bookie like Funbet, therefore, it should not only capture the attention, but offer genuine value too.
The Funbet new customer offer certainly accomplishes the first goal, with the enticing mention of a welcome bonus of up to €50. Dig a little deeper, and you’ll find that it’s a deposit match promotion – a classic type of welcome offer – in which the bookie matches your first deposit. In this case it’s only a 50% match, but – on the surface – that’s still a pretty good deal.
Of course, to truly assess the value of this Funbet offer, we need to look at the T’s & C’s. These are the most important ones:
- Minimum deposit of €10
- Skrill, Neteller, and ecoPayz deposits are ineligible
- Must use the promo code ‘WFUNBETSB’ when making deposit
- 50% bonus will be credited after deposit
- Deposit plus bonus must be wagered six times before bonus winnings can be withdrawn
- Minimum odds for qualifying bets are evens (2.0)
- Rollover must be completed within 30 days of deposit
- Ineligible bet types include Starting Price, Asian Handicap, and Draw No Bet
Clearly the most eye-catching condition here is the rollover requirement. Needing to bet through the entire deposit plus the bonus, a whole six times, is a pretty tricky task. The minimum odds for doing so are fair, and 30 days is certainly a long enough time frame, but – overall – turning a profit through all this still represents a challenge. If you can complete this challenge, however, then the rewards – of not only your 50% bonus, but any winnings you make too – will be lucrative.
Funbet Ongoing Promotions (Updated On: December 2021)
Funbet’s welcome offer won’t appeal to everyone, due to its high-risk nature. The responsibility to appeal to the masses, therefore, falls on the ongoing Funbet promotions. And, even though there are only two available at the time of writing, both are very compelling indeed.
The first ongoing promotion is called ‘Freebet with YourBet’. YourBet is Funbet’s name for their bet builder feature, which – like any other bet builder – makes it easier to craft same-game multiples. The differences here are that YourBet is mobile-only, and applies exclusively to football and basketball markets.
To qualify for the promotion, you must use this bet builder to place a multiples bet with at least three selections, at odds of 2/1 (3.0) or greater, and a minimum stake of €10. Do so, and you’ll be rewarded with a €5 Funbet free bet, which you have seven days to use. Getting an automatic 50% return on your stake (assuming you only €10) is already excellent value. Better yet, however, this offer can be used once per week, every week, allowing you to continually benefit from the rewards.
The other promotion is called Combi Boost. While it’s not as inventive as the previous offer, this one is certainly still extremely useful. It’s a classic ‘acca boost’, in which your acca winnings are inflated.
In this case, you must place an acca with at least five selections to qualify. Each selection must be at odds of at least 3/10, with combined odds for the whole bet of 3/1. The size of the boost here starts at 5% for a 5-folds, but increases as you add more selections. Six selections gets you an extra 7%, seven gets you 10%, and so on, all the way up to 50% for a 15-folds.
Funbet Football Features
There are certain absolute priorities which every new bookie should have at the top of its checklist. One of these is undoubtedly to provide a broad, deep, and compelling betting section for the millions of football fans out there.
We’re pleased to say that Funbet have done a very good job in this regard. Like the rest of the website, the football section doesn’t create the most spectacular first impression, appearing grey, simplistic… and even a little boring! It doesn’t take long, however, to appreciate this straightforward approach, and it certainly makes the entire section extremely approachable.
The layout really is highly intuitive. All competitions are divided by country or continent on a menu to the left-hand side. Click one, and its markets will open up in the main section of the display, accompanied by the main Match Result odds. Select a particular game, and you’ll then be taken to its individual markets, which – again – are clearly displayed in the main section.
The scope of those betting markets really is excellent. Every bet type you could realistically hope for is available, from standard selections like 1/X/2, Over/Under Goals, and Both Teams to Score, through to Asian Handicap, Period/Half betting, and Goalscorer wagers. The range of actual betting opportunities is fantastic too, and compares favourably with even the biggest bookies out there. Hundreds of competitions are supported, from the biggest continental contests – like the Champions League and Europa League – through to lower league domestic fare.
As for premium features, the cupboard is a little bare here. Even though in-play and cash out are available, and there are stats and a visualisation tool for ongoing games, there’s no actual streaming available. Aside from YourBet – the bet builder – there aren’t really any innovative tools either. Based on the quality elsewhere, though, overall this is still a very impressive football section.
Other Betting Markets
Even the biggest fan of the beautiful game would admit there’s more to life than football, and a successful bookie must realise this too! In their case, this should result in a well-rounded selection of non-football betting markets.
Funbet don’t have the widest selection of such markets, but most of the major bases are still covered. Most notably, these include tennis, rugby, cricket, golf, and various motor sports. Their collection of American markets (such as the NFL and NBA) and eSports is impressive too.
By far the most notable absence here is horse racing, which remains a massive betting market. It’s pretty common for this to be missing from a new bookie, though, and we’d hope to see it added in the near future.
Mobile Betting Options & App
The sports betting landscape is constantly shifting and evolving. Having moved from physical sportsbooks to online platforms, it now looks to be shifting again, from desktop to mobile devices as the primary place to bet.
In these circumstances, you’d expect any new sportsbook to make mobile betting an absolute priority. Pretty quickly it becomes clear that’s not the case here, as there isn’t even a basic Funbet Android app in place, nor is there an iOS version. Given how easy it is to hire someone to create an app nowadays, we’re continually bemused to see bookies launching without one, and would expect to see an app released in the coming months.
As it is, without a Funbet app available, you’re completely reliant on the mobile website for your on-the-go betting needs. We’re pleased to say, therefore, that this mobile site is actually very good indeed.
Much like the desktop version, the Funbet mobile site isn’t the most visually spectacular in the world. What it lacks in style, though, it more than makes up for in substance. It loaded very quickly during our testing, using both WiFi and mobile data, and we experienced no crashes whatsoever. Key tweaks have also been made to the navigation, with some menus relocated or compressed, and others turned into more mobile-friendly scrolling menus. All the functionality of the main website has been carried over too, from live and pre-match betting, to account management services.
When you haven’t heard of a brand before, as will always be the case with a new sportsbook, questions like ‘Is Funbet legit?’ are perfectly natural. The answer here, though, is a pretty resounding ‘yes’.
For starters, Funbet have already secured two prestigious licenses. These come courtesy of the Malta Gaming Authority and UK Gambling Commission, both of which hold bookies to the highest industry standards for security and fairness.
Like most bookies, Funbet go into very little detail about their actual security measures, aside from mentioning a couple of types of encryption they use. Those aforementioned licenses, though, should reassure you that this is indeed a safe place to bet.
Opening an Account
We’re happy to say that the Funbet registration process is clear, quick, and extremely straightforward. It’s neatly divided into three parts, and requires only a couple of minutes of your time to complete.
You begin by simply providing your email address, name, and date of birth. The next section is equally easy, only asking for your physical address and a phone number. At the third and final stage, you’ll create a username and password for your new Funbet account, and decide a few personal preferences, including those for marketing notifications. Once you’re happy with those, just hit the yellow button at the bottom. A verification email will now be sent to you. Simply click the link within that email to verify your account, and complete the process.
This used to be an area in which older bookies dominated their newer competition, but the gap has closed significantly in recent years. Funbet fit neatly into this trend, with a range of payment methods which – while not quite at a premium level – will be good enough for most.
The deposit methods are headlined by Visa and Mastercard, which are backed up by the likes of Neteller, MuchBetter, Skrill and ecoPayz, with PayPal currently the only major absence. The minimum deposit amount is a standard €10 for all methods.
The same methods are largely available when making a Funbet withdrawal, and no fees are charged for doing so. Be aware that the minimum withdrawal amount is higher, though, at €20.
Whatever your age or size as a sportsbook, customer support must be an absolute priority. Fortunately, this clearly is indeed the case with Funbet.
There are three main ways to talk to the Funbet customer service team. While email is technically available, you’ll get a quicker response by using either the live chat or phone options. Both are available 24/7, meaning it should never take long to get a query answered.
If you don’t fancy using a direct Funbet contact option, there is technically an FAQ in place. It’s pretty lackluster though, tending to answer oddly specific questions, and not being laid out in a very helpful or intuitive manner.
Funbet Company Details
Funbet are completely new to the sports betting scene, having only launched in December 2021. They are owned and operated by Genesis Global Limited, however, who do have experience in creating online gambling platforms. Funbet, like their parent company, are based in Malta.
Aside from that, there’s very little information available about Funbet right now. This is the case with almost all new bookies, though, and – thanks to the licenses they’ve already secured – we’re completely confident in Funbet’s legitimacy.
Funbet Bottom Line
We understand why people might not want to ‘take the risk’ with a brand-new bookie. In the case of Funbet, though, the platform that’s in place is already extremely advanced. Above all else, it feels professional.
This all starts with the interface, which makes navigating the impressive range of betting markets an absolute cinch. The customer support and banking options too, while not quite at the highest level, are all highly competitive.
In general, we simply found very few faults in our Funbet review. True, there’s no app yet, but this absence is offset by the quality of the mobile site. Likewise, while the range of ongoing promotions is small, those which are present are excellent.
Despite its youth, Funbet is already a strong and well-rounded sportsbook, and we have no problem with recommending it in its current state. Try out the 50% deposit match welcome offer, spend a little time thereafter with the platform, and we’re confident you’ll be as impressed as we were.
