Winston Bet Sign Up Offer

For an unknown sportsbook like this, the welcome offer presents a wonderful opportunity. It can not only hook the attention of newcomers, but even persuade them to register and start depositing money with you on the spot.

The Winston Bet new customer offer certainly seems to represent good value. It promises a £10 free bet, apparently in exchange for simply depositing £10. When you delve into the details, though, you soon find that all is not as it seems.

These are the main terms and conditions for the offer:

  • Minimum £10 deposit
  • £10 free bet unlocked after depositing
  • Minimum odds of 1/2 (1.50) when using free bet
  • Free bet winnings must be wagered 10x before converting into cash
  • Maximum conversion amount is £20
  • Any bonus and winnings expire seven days after free bet is credited

As you can see, what appears to be an enticing offer soon becomes a trickier proposition. The basic value is fair: depositing £10 for a £10 free bet, with the chance to ultimately win £20. The conditions imposed on you, though, are pretty tough. Needing to bet through your initial winnings 10 times is a big ask. When you only have one week in which to do so… well, the odds are clearly stacked against you.

Overall, there’s not much to lose by giving this Winston Bet offer a shot. On its own, though, it won’t be enough to persuade most people into signing up.

Winston Bet Ongoing Promotions (Updated On: July 2020)

With the welcome offer hardly proving irresistible, you’d expect the ongoing Winston Bet promotions to be a little more alluring. The reality, once again, is that they’re a bit of a mixed bag. There’s nothing wrong with the quantity, with five or six genuine offers available right now (and a few more placeholders). The quality, however, leaves something to be desired.

Most importantly, there’s very little variety from offer to offer. While technically there are individual deals for a whole range of sports – football, tennis, rugby, and so on – the actual mechanics are very similar to the welcome offer. In short, you make a deposit, get a Winston Bet free bet, and have to bet through any winnings 10 times before converting them to real money. The only real differences are the amounts involved. All the current promotions offer a £10 free bet in return for £25 of wagers. Past deals, though, have given a £5 free bet for £15 in stakes. Either way, the rollover requirements greatly limit the value here.

The only other promotion worth noting right now is called ‘Sports League’, which actually is pretty interesting. It’s basically a leaderboard, which ranks users depending on how much they’ve won within a given time period. You must deposit £10 and bet at least £50 to enter. The top five winners get a cash reward, with £150 going to the overall champion. The current promotional period is set to end soon, at the time of writing, but we’d hope to see this continued in the months to come.

Winston Bet Football Features

The beautiful game is the biggest betting market by far, so it’s no exaggeration to say that a new sportsbook – like Winston Bet – can live or die based on its football features. We’re pleased to say, therefore, that Winston Bet pass this vital test with flying colours. Their football section isn’t just impressive; in most ways, it’s a genuine match for the most famous brands on the scene.

This all begins with the interface. It might not look like the most visually spectacular platform, but – for sheer ease of use – it’s outstanding. On the main desktop version, your screen is intuitively split into four different sections. On the far left you have a menu, which houses every competition on the entire platform. These are easily divided into continent, country, and so on, but you can also simply use the search feature to locate whatever you want to bet on.

Select a competition, and all its upcoming matches will open in the second section. At a glance, you can also see the prices for Match Result, Double Chance, Both Teams to Score, and so on. By then selecting a particular match, all of its specific markets will be displayed in the third area. The range of bet types here is vast, covering everything from old favourites like Over/Under Goals, to Handicap betting, to player-specific wagers. See a price you like, and you can simply click it to add it your betslip, which is in the fourth and final section.

It’s not just Winston Bet’s bet types which are impressive, but their sheer breadth of markets too. Of course the likes of the Premier League, Champions League, and Europa League are present and correct. But you’ll also find domestic and international competitions from around the world represented, with many of the larger ones supporting Outright bets.

Live streaming is an unfortunate, but not unexpected absence. You can certainly place live bets, though, and both the in-play and Winston Bet cash out features work flawlessly. In lieu of actual streaming, Winston Bet have also provided live stats, plus a visualisation tool, to help you keep up with live games.

We really couldn’t ask for any more here. The Winston Bet football section is simply excellent.

Other Betting Markets

Even the biggest sportsbooks don’t survive on football alone, and a smaller brand certainly shouldn’t try to do so! To their credit, Winston Bet have clearly taken care to provide a nicely-rounded range of other betting markets.

Most notably, these do already include horse racing; a frequent absence from new bookies. Only courses in the USA are currently included, but we’d expect this to change over time. Elsewhere, heavy hitters like tennis, rugby, golf, and cricket are all present and correct. The major American leagues – like the NBA and MLB – are supported too, and there’s a nice selection of eSports like Dota 2, CoD, and LoL. Finally, there are also a few fun little niche betting markets, including rally driving, floorball, and even sumo!

Mobile Betting Options & App

We all know why online betting replaced brick-and-mortar sportsbooks as the dominant way to bet. It’s simply a more convenient and faster way to do things. Well, we may well be seeing a similar shift right now, from desktop-based wagers over to on-the-go betting. For many, this is actually already the preferred way to gamble.

In this context, we were both surprised and disappointed by Winston Bet’s mobile offering. For starters, there is no Winston Bet Android app available, nor is there an iOS version. We know that this is a new sportsbook, but nowadays, even brand-new bookies will often have an app ready at launch. Winston Bet’s youth, therefore, is simply not an excuse.

With the lack of an actual Winston Bet app, you’re completely reliant on the mobile website for your on-the-go betting needs. Unfortunately, this isn’t very good either! While it’s certainly functional – allowing you to place bets, manage your account, and so on – the actual ‘quality of life’ is below what we’ve come to expect in this day and age. Loading times aren’t particularly quick, and the scaling of several important elements – including menus – is pretty amateurish.

Given just how important on-the-go betting is right now, we found the lack of care in the Winston Bet mobile offering both baffling and bizarre. This simply must be fixed, sooner rather than later.

Security

However new a sportsbook might be, account security is of the utmost importance. Fortunately, Winston Bet have really risen to the challenge here. 128-bit SSL encryption and a powerful firewall are in place, both of which should help to keep your data safe. ‘World renowned companies’ are also used to secure transactions, and prevent identity theft.

If you were wondering ‘Is Winston Bet legit?’, these measures will already provide some reassurance. The licenses they’ve managed to secure – with both the UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority – should then be enough to give you total peace of mind.

Opening an Account

We’re pleased to say that the registration process at Winston Bet is extremely straightforward, requiring two minutes – at most – of your time. The whole thing has been neatly split into two quick and easy stages.

At the first, you simply enter your email address and phone number, and create a password. At the second, you provide further personal details, such as your name, date of birth, and home address. You can also set your preferred currency and notification preferences here. When you’re ready, agree to the T’s & C’s, and click ‘Submit’. You’ll then be sent a 4-digit code via SMS and email. Just copy that code back onto the site to verify your account, and you’re good to go.

Banking Options

Winston Bet boasts the features of a much bigger bookies in several areas, and banking options is definitely one of them. The selection of ways in which you can deposit is excellent, covering Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, Paysafecard, Payviacard, MuchBetter, ecoPayz, and – for bank transfers – Trustly. The minimum deposit amount varies between £10-20, depending on the method, and payments are processed instantly.

Roughly the same methods are available for a Winston Bet withdrawal, minus Paysafecard. Unfortunately, however, these are much slower thanks to a three-day ‘pending’ period, and all withdrawals incur a £2.50 transaction fee.

Customer Support

Here we find another area in which this bookie is more than a match for more-established brands. The Winston Bet customer service is easy to access, and offers solid coverage. Most importantly, you are able to reach out using live chat, which is available between 08:00-00:00 each day, and this can be reached via an ever-present button in the main menu. If your enquiry isn’t so urgent, email is also a Winston Bet contact option.

Unfortunately, the indirect support is nowhere near as good. There is an FAQ section in place, but it relates almost entirely to the casino section, offering little help for sports bettors.

Winston Bet Company Details

It’s usually tricky to find many details about a new bookie, and so it proves here. Having only been founded in 2020, of course, it’s unsurprising that Winston Bet haven’t built up much of a reputation yet.

We will say, however, that – despite this brand’s newness – there’s actually plenty of experience behind them. This comes mostly from ProgressPlay, the creators and operators of Winston Bet. They are true veterans of both the sports and casino betting industries, having developed such platforms since 2012 to great success.

Like ProgressPlay, Winston Bet are based in the small but tax-friendly country of Malta.

Winston Bet Bottom Line

As noted earlier, there are a few fundamental pillars upon which all modern-day sportsbooks should be based. And, for the most part, Winston Bet has succeeded in these respects.

Most importantly for fans of the beautiful game, the football section is outstanding. This is then backed up in several vitally important areas, with customer support, security, and the registration process all being top-notch.

As with most new sportsbooks, there are certainly areas for improvement. The mobile offering is a glaring weakness right now, which must be fixed sooner rather than later. The ongoing promotions are generally unimaginative too, and there are a couple of smaller annoyances, like the processing fee for all withdrawals.

Overall, though, we were extremely impressed with what we found in our Winston Bet review. This young bookie has come a long way in a short space of time, and is already a viable option. Sign up now, take a chance on their low-risk, high-reward welcome offer, and we doubt you’ll be disappointed.
