Attractive Welcome Offer

In an industry as crowded as competitive as the sports betting scene – particularly in the booming UK market – we’re a little confused as to why we don’t see more innovation. Some brands do take chances here, by going mobile-only perhaps, or blending social media and sports betting together. For the most part, however, newer brands tend to simply play it safe.

Well, one thing you can’t accuse Kwiff of is lacking creativity. They take a truly original approach in several different ways, from ‘Kwiffing’ itself, to their highly unusual ‘Surprise Bets’. In our comprehensive Kwiff review, we’ll assess just how successful this bookie has been in its unusual approach. En route, you’ll learn about all the promotions, betting markets, customer service options, and more which are on offer.

Kwiff Sign Up Offer

The Kwiff welcome offer is called ‘Bet £10, Get a £20 Surprise Bet’, and is… unusual, to say the least. Before we dig into the details, let’s take a quick look at the most important terms and conditions for this sign up deal.

  • New customers only
  • One welcome offer per household
  • Minimum deposit of £10 (all payment methods eligible)
  • First bet must be a qualifying wager of at least £10 (each ways ineligible)
  • Minimum odds of 1/2 (1.50) for qualifying bet
  • Cashed out qualifying bets are ineligible
  • Receive a £20 ‘Surprise Bet’ in return
  • Surprise Bet awarded within 48 hours of qualifying wager settling
  • Surprise Bet stakes not returned with winnings

Let’s start with the positives here. The welcome offer is very clearly explained, and there are no hidden catches at all. The minimum odds for your qualifying wager are nice and low, and it can be placed on any football market you please. Finally, a £10 minimum stake for that wager should be suitable for even the more casual punters among you.

The controversy, however, revolves around punters receiving a ‘Surprise Bet’, rather than a regular free bet. Surprise Bets are one of Kwiff’s most innovative features, with their algorithm not only picking the market on which these tokens will be used, but even placing the wager for you. Your automated selection might even be ‘Kwiffed’, which is the same as getting an odds boost.

If you’re happy to take the risk, this welcome offer might represent good value. For a stake of only £10, you could end up with an absolutely massive return if a kwiffed, £20 Surprise Bet wins. If you want to be in complete control, however, you’re probably better off sticking to sign up bonuses which give you traditional free bets, rather than Kwiff’s more creative version.

Kwiff Ongoing Promotions (Updated On: July 2021)

After you’ve taken advantage of the welcome bonus, ongoing Kwiff promotions give you more opportunities to earn free bets and bonus cash.

Kwiff’s main claim to fame is ‘Kwiffing’ itself. ‘Kwiffs’ are basically bet boosts, which increase your odds on certain markets. In this case though, Kwiffs are given out completely randomly. You might get three bets in a row boosted, or not see a single odds boost for a fortnight. It’s an interesting idea, but we prefer regular bet boosts – such as those on Ladbrokes or William Hill – which give all the control to the bettor.

More interestingly, bettors on the beautiful game will be intrigued by Kwiff’s Football Money Back deal. Start by placing at least a £1 full-time single wager on an EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Champions League, Europa League, or FA Cup match (there is no minimum odds requirement for this Kwiff offer). If your team is leading at half time but goes on to lose the match, Kwiff will refund the stake amount up to £10 as a free Surprise Bet. The free bet will appear in your account within 48 hours, and it must be used within seven days.

Anyone who enjoys betting on horse races can also earn a Surprise Bet worth up to £10. Simply wager a minimum of £1 on select races, and – if your horse finishes second to the favorite – Kwiff will refund the stake amount up to £10 in the form of a Surprise Bet. You’ll receive the bonus bet the following day, and – again – it must be used within seven days.

If you like betting accumulators on popular North American sports, then the American Acca Shield promotion is for you. To trigger the deal, stake at least £5 on a pre-match acca on MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL, or NCAA. Your multiples bet must have at least four legs, with minimum odds of 1/2 (1.50) per selection. If your wager loses by just one pick, Kwiff will refund your stake amount up to £20 as a free Surprise Bet.

Kwiff Football Features

To say that Kwiff’s football coverage is incredible would be an understatement. The site offers odds on over 90 leagues and events from all over the globe. From popular European leagues like the Premier League, Bundesliga, and Serie A, to lesser-known leagues in places like Korea, Israel, and Turkey, Kwiff serves up an all-you-can-eat buffet of football betting opportunities.

Once you have found the game you want to wager on, you will have dozens of wagers to choose from, over and above the standard match result, over/under goals, and so on. Double Chance, Both Teams to Score, and Draw No Bet are among the most popular wagers. Punters who want to take a shot at some longer odds can wager on Correct Score, First Goal Scorer, Team to Keep a Clean Sheet, and plenty more difficult wagers. Even aside from these, there are loads of other game props, team props, and player props.

Kwiff’s live betting experience isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely still good enough to get the job done. We can’t complain about the variety of live football betting markets or the speed in which the live odds are updated. However, the lack of any live streaming at all dulls the shine a little. Still, you can follow the action in real-time at the top of the live betting menu, via a handy visualisation tool. This window even displays a variety of up-to-date statistics and other helpful information.

If there’s one thing that may make football bettors shy away from Kwiff, the odds would be our number one suspect. It would be a stretch to say that they are even competitive. For instance, Premier League three-outcome and two-outcome odds have an average betting margin of around 12.5%. This means that Kwiff takes a much bigger commission than most other major UK bookmakers, which – in turn – makes it noticeably harder for punters to turn a profit over the long haul.

Other Betting Markets

Kwiff’s coverage of other sports is… decent, but hardly exceptional. Those who like betting on the ponies have a reasonable selection of tracks to choose from, including courses in the UK, Ireland, France, and Australia. Again, the lack of a live streaming feature detracts a little from the horse betting experience here.

Elsewhere, Kwiff covers a variety of other major sports, including cricket, rugby union, rugby league, and various combat sports. You’ll also find a full menu of betting options for American football, baseball, basketball, and ice hockey, as well as golf and tennis. As with the aforementioned football markets, the odds margins for these sports are quite high.

Finally, while Kwiff do offer odds on a few niche sports, including snooker and darts, there are a few holes in their selection. Motorsports is the most notable, but the likes of Gaelic games and athletics are also absent.

Mobile Betting Options & App

You can take Kwiff with you wherever you go by downloading the Kwiff app for your iOS or Android device. You can download the Kwiff Android app at Google Play, where it has a pretty modest 3.0 rating. The Kwiff mobile app for iOS is also available directly from the App Store, where it boasts a far more impressive rating of 4.5.

To be honest, both the desktop and mobile versions of this betting site could be a lot easier to use. For instance, most other betting apps neatly list all of the sports in a side menu, usually hidden until you activate it with the touch of a button. Many of them even save you the hassle of sifting through the games by featuring a search bar. Sadly, Kwiff does neither, which can make the platform a little frustrating to navigate at times. In general, the interface here simply feels clunky, and lags behind the streamlined, super-modern apps which you’ll find at most major sportsbooks.

On the plus side, the Kwiff app gives you access to all of the site’s most important features, including informative statistics and the Kwiff cash out option. You can also instantly deposit funds, claim bonuses, place pre-match or live wagers, follow the animated live action, and withdraw your winnings, all while you are on the go.

Despite a couple of minor shortcomings, the app is responsive and user-friendly. Assuming you have a strong WiFi or mobile signal, you won’t have to deal with frustrating issues like lag times, which is particularly important for live bettors who need their wagers to be processed right away.

If you plan on using your mobile device to wager at Kwiff, we’d recommend using the app rather than the mobile site. While the latter does tend to work acceptably well in your mobile browser, the app did seem to be faster during our testing.

Security

Because Kwiff operates under a license from the United Kingdom Gambling Commission, the site must adhere to the highest security standards. All communications with Kwiff are encrypted using the latest SSL technology. Also, payment processors used by Kwiff are PCI DSS-accredited, which ensures that all of your payment details are protected.

Another benefit of joining a sportsbook that is licensed in the UK is that the money in your player account is always available for withdrawal at any time, as Kwiff is required to keep player funds and company funds in separate accounts. Finally, Kwiff welcomes you to contact their support team if you have any questions about their security measures.

Opening an Account

Opening an account at Kwiff couldn’t be any easier. Kwiff’s claim that the registration process only takes a minute is slightly optimistic, but – in reality – it does take barely more than a couple.

You can get the ball rolling by going to the site using your desktop or mobile browser, then clicking on the ‘Join’ icon at the top of the page to bring up the registration form. Here, you must enter your email address, create a password, and provide a few basic details such as your date of birth, residential address, and mobile number.

You should soon receive an SMS message – sent to the number you provided – which contains your unique activation code. Simply enter that code to activate your new account, and then you’re free to make your first deposit and start betting.

Banking Options

The number of Kwiff payment options is beyond disappointing. As it stands, Kwiff only supports Visa and Mastercard, with no eWallets whatsoever – such as PayPal, Skrill, or Neteller – being supported. Because of the recent ban on bookmaker credit card payments in the UK, you can literally only use a debit card here. This means an extra security check to verify the card, which should be done as soon as possible to avoid any payment delays. The two pieces of good news here are that the minimum deposit is a nice, low £5, and that deposits are processed instantly.

Kwiff withdrawals are very easy to do. Just be sure you have completed the KYC process, and that you have verified your card before requesting a withdrawal. The minimum withdrawal amount is £10, no fees are ever incurred, and payments should reach you within three to five business days at the most.

Customer Support

The Kwiff customer service team is available 24/7, meaning that – if you ever do encounter an issue – help will be close at hand. While you can’t reach a Kwiff contact by phone at the moment, you can use the live chat function instead, which should get you in touch with a live agent within seconds. If your enquiry is a little less urgent then you’re also free to send an email, which should still be replied to within the hour.

If you would rather try to solve an issue by yourself, Kwiff has a highly informative FAQ section that provides detailed answers to over 100 commonly asked questions. To access it, you simply need to select the ‘Help’ link, then type in your question or topic. The intuitive search function should then bring up all the articles that relate to that subject.

Kwiff Company Details

Kwiff is operated by Kwiff Limited, which is owned by Eaton Gate Gaming Ltd. Eaton Gate Gaming, in turn, is licensed and regulated by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. Even though the Kwiff website itself has only been around since 2015, their player base and revenues continue to steadily increase. Unusually in this day and age, Kwiff is actually headquartered in London, rather than a more tax-friendly locale like Malta or Gibraltar.

So, is Kwiff legit? It’s safe to say that Kwiff is very legitimate indeed when all their credentials are taken into account. Most important of all is their prestigious license, with the UKGC enforcing some of the strictest regulatory controls in the entire betting industry.

Kwiff Bottom Line

In the introduction to our Kwiff review, we praised this innovative brand for taking the kinds of chances which most young betting sites wouldn’t even attempt. While we still think this site’s ambition is impressive, however… it doesn’t actually lead to the most impressive results.

Both of the headline examples – Kwiffing and Surprise Bets – are a little misguided. In both cases, it feels like Kwiff have taken features which work elsewhere – free bets and bet boosts – and tried to put a twist on them. In both cases, that twist actually makes them less appealing than the original versions. There are also a couple of more fundamental areas in which Kwiff are found wanting, such as their lack of payment options, and their unusually low odds.

With all that said, there’s still plenty to like here. The market selection is highly competitive, with the range of football betting options being outstanding. We also like the number and variety of ongoing promotions, and the customer service coverage is excellent. Overall, there’s enough here to warrant triggering the welcome offer, claiming your £25 in rewards, and giving this creative sportsbook a shot.
