In sports betting, as in life, it’s not always the best idea to simply stick with what you know. While it’s certainly comfortable to do so, you never know what opportunities you could be missing.
With bookmakers, it’s easy to simply go with the big names – William Hill, Ladbrokes, and so on. Delve a little deeper into the market, however, and you can discover some amazing value. When we recently reviewed BoyleSports, for example – hardly a household name in the UK – we found some of the best promotions we’ve ever seen from a bookie.
So, whilst you may never have heard of ComeOn!, that doesn’t mean you should automatically dismiss them. Nor should you dismiss them because of their silly name! In this ComeOn! review, We’ll fully evaluate whether or not they’re worth your time and money. We’ll be looking at their offers, the general quality of their website, their mobile app, and much, much more.
ComeOn! Football Sign Up Offer
Having an attractive welcome offer is important for every bookmaker… but when you’re a bookie still trying to get a foothold in the market, you’d better make sure you nail it.
We’re pleased to say that ComeOn! do exactly that. Their ‘Bet £10, Get £10 Free Bet’ offer is fair, easy to understand, and offers excellent value.
Here are the main Ts & Cs to be aware of:
- Only available to UK mainland customers
- Initial deposit and first bet must be at least £10
- Qualifying bet must be made at odds of 4/5 (1.8) or greater
- Qualifying bet must be made within 14 days of registration
- Deposits made using Neteller, Skrill and paysafecard are ineligible
- ComeOn! free bet must be used within 30 days
While we don’t like the exclusion of three major online payment methods, this is still a brilliant welcome offer. The 4/5 minimum odds mean there’s a solid chance of you winning your qualifying bet, and – regardless – you’re getting a 100% match on a £10 deposit anyway.
If you’re not based in the UK, then unfortunately you’ll need to use the other ComeOn! welcome offer – ‘100% Welcome Bonus up to €25’ – which is vastly inferior. For UK-based bettors, though, this is a wonderful introduction to ComeOn!.
ComeOn! Sports Betting Ongoing Promotions
It’s fair to say that we were extremely impressed with the ComeOn! Sports welcome offer. Can they keep the momentum going, with some impressive ongoing promotions?
The answer is a confused… ‘kind of’! ComeOn! have both a casino and sportsbook, and their focus definitely seems to be on the casino. Of the 10 ongoing ComeOn! promotions at the time of writing, six of them are for the casino, and one is only for virtual sports.
In fairness, the sports promotions they do have are solid.
We particularly like the Free Bet Club, which is clearly aimed at accumulator fans. To qualify, you must stake at least £20 on multiples bets between Monday and Sunday, with your bets containing at least four selections, and being at (pretty reasonable) minimum odds of 1.33. Satisfy these requirements, and you’ll receive a £5 ComeOn! free bet, which must be used within one week.
‘Parlour’s Predictor’ is also a fun, innovative promotion. ComeOn! have roped in Arsenal legend Ray Parlour to predict the outcomes of several football matches each week. You need to bet £10 on those games, at minimum odds of 1/2, and – if you beat Parlour’s predictions – you’ll get a £5 free bet. If all your predictions on those games are correct, you’ll get a hefty £50 bonus. Nice!
Overall, it’s a shame that ComeOn! haven’t focused on their sports section more here, because the ongoing promotions which are in place are very respectable indeed.
ComeOn! Football Features and Bets
While the world of sports is wide and wonderful, one sport stands head-and-shoulders above the others when it comes to betting – football. Accordingly, getting the football betting section right should be a priority for any bookmaker.
Like most bookies, ComeOn! does indeed have a dedicated football section in place. The actual layout here isn’t the most intuitive we’ve seen, but it’s not bad by any means. By default you’re shown a daily match list, with games sorted by the popularity of the competition – you’ll be shown Champions League games at the top in midweek, Premier League matchups on a Saturday, and so on.
If you want to bet on games further into the future, or on outright markets, it’s easy enough to delve into each competition’s own sub-section. There’s an enormous selection of leagues and cups from around the world to bet on, from the EFL Trophy to the Maltese Premier League. In-play betting is also present and correct, even if – unusually – it’s not displayed by default on the home screen. Still, it works well enough, with odds for live games being updated extremely frequently.
This isn’t exactly a feature-packed football section, with no live streaming or audio commentary available. Between the wide range of markets, though, and the way in which everything works smoothly and reliably, this is a solid all-round effort.
Other Betting Markets
There’s no doubting that, after football, horse racing is the main focus on ComeOn! In fact, it’s arguably an even bigger focus, given that ‘Horse Racing’ is an option on the top bar, while football is not.
This section is arranged in a nice, simple manner, and you can bet on races from the UK & Ireland, or further afield. ComeOn! have live audio commentary for horse racing, and they even provide previews of certain upcoming races.
Elsewhere, ComeOn! has a selection of other betting markets to rival the biggest bookies. There really is an enormous range of options here, from rugby, cricket and golf, to American sports, to surfing and speedway. Whatever your particular gambling tastes, you’ll be catered for here.
Mobile Betting Options & App
ComeOn! don’t make a big deal about their mobile app. In fact, they almost go out of their way not to tell you about it – in their FAQ section, their answer to ‘Do I need to download an app?’ is ‘No, you will not need to download any additional applications’… with no mention that there is an app in existence!
The ComeOn! app does exist, though, and has been on the App Store since 2017 (we were unable to find a ComeOn! Android app). There aren’t enough reviews to give it an average rating, but a quick glance at the reviews which are there show you why ComeOn! are keen to keep the app quiet. There are numerous complaints about the stability and general performance of the app, and – unfortunately – these were backed up by our experiences too.
Fortunately, considering the mess they’ve made of their apps, the ComeOn! mobile website is excellent. The menus are nicely arranged, and the layout actually looks better on mobile than on desktop. Crucially, you can also use the welcome offer and ongoing promotions here in exactly the same way as you can on desktop.
In this day and age, it’s pretty poor not to have competent mobile apps for Android and iOS devices. With that said, ComeOn! do a pretty good job of covering up for these glaring omissions with a very good mobile version of their sportsbook.
Opening an ComeOn! Account
The ComeOn! registration process is faultlessly simple.
It’s intelligently broken down into four sections – Account, Details, Bonus and Play. In the first two, you create your username and password, and enter the usual personal details – address, date of birth, and so on.
At the third step, you’ll be specifically reminded to opt in to the ‘Bet £10, Get £10 Free Bet’ welcome offer, which is a lovely touch. You’ll then make your deposit, being given the option to set daily deposit limits in the process (strangely, there aren’t options for weekly or monthly limits). Once you’ve done that, you’ll be good to go!
The entire signup process takes less than two minutes, and – again – we love that you’re reminded to take advantage of the excellent ComeOn! welcome offer here.
One of the most common drawbacks to going with a smaller bookie is that you’ll have less choice when it comes to banking options. Unfortunately, that’s generally the case here too. While the range of options isn’t terrible, it can’t compete with those you’ll find at the bigger sites.
You have six banking options at ComeOn! – credit/debit card, Siru, Skrill, Neteller, paysafecard and Trustly. PayPal and bank transfer are the two major omissions here, but remember that – even of the banking options which are supported – not all of them are eligible for the welcome offer.
The minimum deposit amount is the equivalent of €10 – £8.52, at the time of writing – and deposits are processed instantly. The minimum ComeOn! withdrawal amount is £18, which is unusually high.
Finally, it’s crucial to note that ComeOn! actually charge a fee for making deposits, when using any method except credit/debit card. While the fee isn’t enormous, at 5%, actually charging people to gamble on your sportsbook is pretty much unheard-of nowadays, and represents a major misstep.
Security and Safety
Given that you’re unlikely to have heard of them, it’s perfectly reasonable for you to wonder ‘is ComeOn! legit?’
Like most bookies, ComeOn! don’t provide much information on their actual security measures. In fact, in this case… we couldn’t find any information whatsoever on their website.
That’s obviously not ideal, but they do hold licenses with the British and Maltese gaming authorities. Amongst a whole load of other regulations, this requires them to “guarantee the security for all players”, so – even if you don’t specifically know how they’re doing it – you should be able to trust ComeOn! to protect both your money and data.
While some bookies seem to only include live chat begrudgingly, ComeOn! make it a focus to direct you towards their live chat as much as possible. That’s actually pretty refreshing! ComeOn! customer service agents are available to talk to between 09:00 – 20:00 GMT, seven days per week, and you’re invited to email them outside of those hours. There’s no phone number with which to contact ComeOn!, but they do respond to Twitter enquiries pretty speedily.
In addition to their excellent live chat, ComeOn! also have a very good FAQ section in place. There are plenty of articles, covering everything from live betting and using the ComeOn! cash out feature, to the intricacies of their ongoing promotions. The articles are written in a clear and concise way, and often have a bit of humour thrown in too, which – again – makes a refreshing change from most bookies.
ComeOn! Company Details
ComeOn! are certainly one of the newer entries to the bookmaking scene, having only been founded in 2010. Since starting off in Stockholm, they have relocated to central London, and hold full gambling licenses with both the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority (they also have an e-gaming license in Curacao).
ComeOn! is an online-only company, with no brick-and-mortar betting shops, and they were taken over by Cherry AB – a sizable Swedish gambling company – after a hefty €280 million purchase back in 2016.
ComeOn! Bottom Line
ComeOn! do a great job of making you want to like them. The friendly, fun tone here is similar to that on Paddy Power, although it’s not quite as cheeky. They generally take a light-hearted approach which marks a pleasing contrast from all of the oh-so-serious bookmakers out there.
In terms of the actual tangible features, there’s a lot to like here too. Their excellent welcome offer is backed up by a few enticing ongoing promotions, and the football betting section is certainly solid. The FAQ section is helpful, and – while the lack of viable mobile apps is disappointing – the mobile version of the site is great.
There aren’t many drawbacks here…but the ones which are present are pretty inexcusable. Aside from that major app-related issue, their choice to charge fees for some deposits is simply bizarre. Given that the ongoing promotions which are in place are very good indeed, it’s also baffling that there aren’t more of them.
Overall though, there’s easily enough good stuff here to make signing up for ComeOn! – and taking advantage of their brilliant ‘Bet £10, Get £10 Free Bet’ welcome offer – a no-brainer.
